There was an immeasurable distance between the quick and the dead: they did not seem to belong to the same species; and it was strange to think that but a little while before they had spoken and moved and eaten and laughed - W. Somerset Maugham
SMILEY FACED FIRM LG has released a teaser video for its upcoming Optimus Vu smartphone.
It released a short video on its Korean web site that shows off the slim and sleek handset. Information is minimal with the 4:3 aspect ratio in landscape mode being the main focus.
Some specifications have been leaked, including a large in-plane switching (IPS) 5in screen with 1024x768 resolution, according to The Verge. Other specifications consist of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage and an 8MP camera.
Near field communications (NFC) technology apparently will be included. Strangely, the phone will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread instead of the more up-to-date Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Considering that the teaser is on the Korean web site we're not sure if the phone will be launched in other countries too, and we're waiting for a reply from LG. It's possible that the Optimus Vu will make an appearance at this month's Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. µ
