KOREAN PHONE MAKER Samsung's recently announced Galaxy S Advance smartphone is available to pre-order.
Online retailer Clove is offering the smartphone for a price of £354 and said it will arrive on 27 February. This date coincides with the first day of this year's Mobile World Congress (MCW) in Barcelona.
Samsung announced the Galaxy S Advance on Monday but gave no pricing and a vague availability of "later this year". It will offer a 4in Super AMOLED screen that is curved like the Galaxy Nexus and a 1GHz dual-core processor.
It will also come with 768MB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, a 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front facing camera. Expansys has the device listed with a price of £359 but no date.
The Galaxy S Advance will ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread rather than Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). Samsung has not mentioned an upgrade to ICS for this device yet.
For those waiting for the follow-up to the Galaxy S II, probably the Galaxy S III, there's bad news. Samsung has confirmed that the phone will not be announced at MWC but will get its own event sometime afterwards. It is likely that Samsung will unveil the next generation Galaxy Tab in Barcelona instead. µ
