TAIWANESE GADGET MAKER Asus has announced that its original Transformer tablet will get an upgrade to the latest version of Android this month.
The wait is nearly over for Asus Transformer tablet owners longing for the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) update. Asus has said its hugely popular Transformer TF101 tablet will be updated to Android ICS by the end of the month.

Asus said on Facebook, "A few of you have asked for a specific date on the ICS update for TF101. We don't have an exact date yet but it should be this month. Our engineers are all back from their Chinese New Year celebrations so we will have an up to date schedule shortly. As soon as we do, we'll let you know on here, so stay tuned!"
Although Asus hasn't set an exact date, this is nevertheless good news. The Transformer tablet's successor, the Transformer Prime, is already available with Android 4.0 ICS out of the box, but the device has had a few early hiccups.
Yesterday online retailer Clove pulled the Transformer Prime from its listings after finding hardware problems with its stock. The firm found reliability issues with the WiFi connectivity and GPS. µ

Wish the transformer had a wired network solution. A little dongle type that would team up with drivers that are in the operating system, and not require hacking the device. Why hasn't this been done without hacking the tablet? Asus Transformer 101.
I love my Transformer, had it for about a month. Can't wait for the ICS update.
