Iphone 5 details start to leak

Foxconn employees reveal the shape of the device to come
Thu Jan 26 2012, 12:37

SOURCES at Foxconn China are leaking details about Apple's upcoming Iphone 5 device, saying the smartphone will look completely different than the Iphone 4 and Iphone 4S.

According to 9to5 Mac, the handset is referred to as the Iphone 5 and is gearing up for production. Apparently there are a few sample devices that vary from each other, but they have a few things in common.

Firstly, there is a 4+in display, possibly made by LG. There aren't any teardrop shaped devices like those that were rumoured before the Iphone 4S launched, and the samples are symmetrical in thickness, and longer and wider than their predecessors.

The sample devices don't have the shape of the Iphone 4S at all, though none are the final versions.

It is likely that the Iphone 5 will launch in the Summer, a return to Apple's format for launching its Iphone devices, and until then expect rumour after rumour. It's clear that this is only the start, so as always we'll warn, take these stories with a pinch of salt please. µ

Legal moves

Since Apple has been suing everyone since they claim to have ownership of the shape "looks like an iPhone" then its clear that the iPhone will look different so that they then can sue anyone on the basis that they've own the concept of of shapes that "look different to an iPhone"

Seriously ?

That is the most uninformative "Leak info" article I have ever seen.

When you actually have a rumor, then write about it.

Maybe I should have been a reporter since you can get paid for this crap ?
