A SECOND Ninja Video system administrator has been sentenced to prison as part of the US government's ongoing Operation In Our Sites.

According to Torrent Freak, Matthew Smith, who was known online as Dead1ne, received a sentence of 14 months in prison followed by two years' supervised release and was ordered to pay back just over $172,000 he allegedly earned from the web site.

Smith is said to have received $172,387 of the total $505,000 apparently collected by the video streaming service in ad revenue and donations since its creation in February 2008. Smith was ordered by the court to repay this amount and forfeit five financial accounts and previously-seized sundry computer equipment.

Earlier this month, we reported that the 30 year old female co-founder of Ninja Video had been sentenced to 22 months in prison.

Hana Beshara, known online as Phara, will spend 22 months in US federal prison followed by two years' probation and 500 hours of community service after being sentenced for conspiracy and criminal copyright infringement.

In 2010, US law enforcement targeted nine web sites connected to alleged copyright infringement, of which Ninja Video was one, as part of Operation In Our Sites.

Five people were arrested in connection with Ninja Video, one of whom was Beshara, but it took until September 2011 for a federal grand jury to indict them. µ
