Anonymous Finland denies sending a bomb threat

Accused of threatening copyright cops

THE FINNISH ARM of the hacktivist group Anonymous is denying accusations that it threatened to bomb the Finnish copyright cops.

Anonymous Finland is engaged in a hacking war with its local copyright guardians, but did not go so far as to send a bomb threat to CIAPC - the Finnish Copyright, Information and Anti-Piracy Centre - according to a tweet.

"We deny to have sent a bomb email threat to CIAPC. We won't even comment on such bullshit. Please RT this as much as You can #elisagate," says a message from the @Anon_Finland account in response to reports.

The hackers were protesting a local news report, from YLE news, that said that an email message signed "Anonymous" made a bomb threat.

"We deny to have sent a bomb email threat to CIAPC. We demand @ylenews to report this statement today & asap: don't piss us off #elisagate," responded the hacktivists.

Unfortunately for the group in this instance, anyone can act under the name Anonymous due to the anarchic nature of the group.

YLE reported that the CIAPC has called in the police over the threat. µ
