Samsung loses bid to ban Iphone 4S in Italy

Apple and Samsung's patent battle continues

KOREAN PHONE MAKER Samsung has failed to win a ban on the Iphone 4S in Italy.

According to Bloomberg, a Milan court yesterday rejected the Korean firm's attempt to block the Iphone 4S in Italy. A Seoul-based spokesman for Samsung confirmed that this was the case.

Samsung said, "We will review the ruling and consider all available measures to further protect our intellectual property rights and stop this free riding on our technology."

The decision is the latest in the tit-for-tat patent battles between the two companies. Last month, Apple lost in an early court decision over the future of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Germany after Samsung changed the design of the device.

The judge dismissed Apple's concerns, saying that Samsung had done enough to distance its hardware from that of its rival.

Also last month, Samsung fired back at Apple in Germany by issuing four patent challenges. µ
