Adobe executive takes on Iad role at Apple

Todd Teresi will head Apple's mobile advertising business
Thu Jan 05 2012, 12:21

FRUIT THEMED Apple has hired former Adobe executive Todd Teresi to run its Iad advertising service.

According to Bloomberg, which cited "people familiar with the matter", Teresi will become VP of Iad and report to Apple's media division chief Eddie Cue. He replaces Andy Miller, who left last summer.

Apple launched Iad in 2010 in a bid to pick up a slice of mobile advertising revenue. However, it has had limited success, with advertising bosses complaining that the service costs more than similar initiatives and works only on Apple devices.

Teresi worked at Adobe for a year and prior to that at Yahoo for nearly 10 years. During his stint at Adobe, he managed digital publishing suite software that enables publishers to put out digital editions of their magazines via the Ipad, Iphone or Android devices.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is also searching for a new head of Apple's retail operations after Ron Johnson left the company last year. µ
