Microsoft has had it with CES

No more appearances at electronics show
Thu Dec 22 2011, 09:10

SOFTWARE FLOGGER Microsoft will make its last appearance at the consumer electronics show (CES) next month.

Microsoft goes with CES like queues, name badges and free mousemats, so it might seem an emptier place without a Steve Ballmer keynote speech and Microsoft's booth munchkins.

Frank Shaw, CVP of corporate communications at Microsoft revealed the decision in a blog post, and said that the firm had been considering where, when and how it should make product announcements.

It seems to have decided that its future product announcements won't be at CES.

"We have decided that this coming January will be our last keynote presentation and booth at CES, wrote Shaw.

"We'll continue to participate in CES as a great place to connect with partners and customers across the PC, phone and entertainment industries, but we won't have a keynote or booth after this year because our product news milestones generally don't align with the show's January timing." µ

Oh

So basically this is an attempt to force them to move it to another month I gather, even though that is not smart either since then CES would have to compete with other such events and they'd drown in the competition.

So yeah I don't think they'd be worse off without MS, and possibly much better.

Good riddance

-MS is killing PC gaming, killed all MS PC games so they can bolster the lame crippled pc called an Xbox.
-No decent OS since XP, everything is slower and bloated.
-Every newer version of office changes the name of a function and is more difficult to use.
Good riddance, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Your not the same company we used to love/hate.

It has to be said

Of course, if you go to CES, you have to have groundbreaking, compelling, new products...
Yes, that leaves Microsoft out.
