SMILEY FACED KOREAN ELECTRONICS FIRM LG along with designer Prada have unveiled their third collaborative smartphone.

Imaginatively named the Prada phone by LG 3.0, the handset aims to bring style to a high-end smartphone. The device will come in 'classic black' with the Prada logo at the top and a respectable 8.5mm profile.

LG said, "Styled with Prada's clean and sharp design philosophy, the handset features a full glossy touchscreen to the front and Prada's signature Saffiano pattern to the back, all finished in classic black."

In line with LG's Optimus smartphones, the Prada 3.0 will come with a 4.3in screen with 480x800 resolution, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 8GB of internal storage, and an 8MP camera. It will ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread with a customized black, grey and white user interface.

Although the phone will not have the latest version of Android, LG has also confirmed that it will get an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The phone was shown off last night in London but unfortunately The INQUIRER was unable to attend.

LG said, "To complement the handset, users will have access to a full line of PRADA phone accessories such as a PRADA branded cradle and Bluetooth ear set." µ

6 months too late?

hopefully they meant to come to market with this phone 6 or so months ago when the hardware would've been on the high end. Funny seeing a designer like prada putting their name behind a device with an average processor and nothing that clearly identifies this as a unique, special phone
