FRUIT THEMED Apple is recruiting engineers as it works on development of API features for its Siri voice recognition and response personal assistant robot.

According to Apple Insider, the cappuccino company has at least two job postings open for "IOS Software Engineers" that describe work on the Siri voice assistant user interface and API development.

One job posting said, "We are looking for an engineer to join the team that implements the UI for Siri."

Three additional job listings involve porting Siri to other languages. Apple is also looking for "Language Technologies Engineers" that it wants to "[bring] new languages to Siri, Apple's new personal assistant technology for iPhone, as well as other cloud based services".

Apple's Siri group has already been described as "one of the largest software teams at Apple".

Last week, questions were raised over Siri's perceived bias after it emerged that it would not search for abortion clinics but would search for drugs and hookers. µ
