KOREAN HARDWARE GIANT Samsung has confirmed there is a volume drop problem with its Galaxy Nexus smartphone.
There's been a great deal of hype surrounding the latest Nexus handset that Samsung co-developed with Google. As does happen sometimes, the phone isn't quite perfect and some customers have suffered from a sudden volume drop during phone calls.

Samsung said, "Regarding the Galaxy Nexus, we are aware of the volume issue and have developed a fix. We will update devices as soon as possible."
The problem seems to be related specifically to the 900MHz frequency used by O2 and Vodafone. Users on Three, Orange and T-Mobile should be fine.
We've had a Galaxy Nexus at The INQUIRER towers for a few days now and we found that there were problems with the volume when the phone was switched to 2G.
We were unable to hear the phone ring during incoming calls, and were not alerted when a text was sent. However, we could hear the person on the other end when we answered the silent call.
The device debuted the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich when it launched last week.
It's not the only smartphone to have experienced issues after launch recently. Nokia announced this week that it will be issuing two software updates to fix power efficiency difficulties with its Lumia 800 handset that launched the day before the Galaxy Nexus. µ
