Apple buys rude domain names

FRUIT THEMED GADGET FLOGGER Apple owns seven explicit domain names after filing a complaint with the World Intellectual Property Forum last month.

According to Domain Name Wire, Apple now owns iphonecam4s.com, iphonecamforce.com, iphoneporn4s.com, iphonesex4s.com, iphonexxxforce.com, iphone4s.com and porn4iphones.com.

Apple's complaint had been filed against the owner of the seven domain names last month. All of the domain names went to a mobile porn site when visited from a mobile phone.

The domains agreed to turn over the domain names so Apple dropped the complaints. Apparently, an Israeli company owned the domain names.

However, some of the domains are still linking to rude web sites, a reader informed Domain Name Wire. We expect Apple will be on that pretty sharpish, given its view of rudeness.

We have asked Apple for comment, but as yet we have heard nothing. µ
