Wikileaks suspect Bradley Manning gets a court date

Army analyst to face military court on 16 December
Tue Nov 22 2011, 15:55

US ARMY analyst Bradley Manning will face a military court on 16 December over allegedly leaking government secrets to Wikileaks.

According to the BBC, Manning faces charges of obtaining and distributing government secrets, then leaking them to the whistleblowing web site.

The Article 32 hearing, which is the first opportunity for the defence to present its case, will determine whether Manning will stand trial. The hearing is expected to last about five days.

Manning was arrested in Iraq in May 2010 and is held in military custody. Until he was moved in April this year, reports of poor treatment had surfaced. Of course the US government denied that they amounted to anything more than a rather strict holiday camp.

Manning is also charged with "aiding the enemy", which can result in a death sentence, although prosecutors will apparently seek only a prison sentence. µ

Reality check

There have been lots of real heros in prisons in foreign countries. Manning is not a hero. He is the scum of the earth and he will either die in prison or by a bullet if ever turned free.

Ignore the inq US-gov bots please

Also, the US army didn't deny mistreatment really, they simply said that's normal and they do it to everybody.

suspicions

I however suspect he'll be released.. in yemen, and 15 seconds later will be hit by a drone missile.
This is the obama regime, all bets are off in the lawlessness department.

He'll have many court dates no doubt

I suspect Manning will have a lot of court dates before he has a lot of prison days ahead of him. Enjoy, you earned it.
