CHINESE GADGET MAKER Lenovo's upcoming 5in tablet has been leaked, courtesy of Engadget.
Samsung has released its 5.3in Galaxy Note, which is a kind of phone and tablet in one, and now Lenovo is joining it in the 5in tablet arena. The device will apparently come under the Lepad name in China and a new Ideatab brand elsewhere.

Whether the device will be marketed as a tablet or not we don't know, as it looks more like a smartphone than a tablet to us. The earpiece above the Lenovo logo certainly suggests it will be able to make calls unless that's simply a speaker for audio playback.
It has a front facing camera, a microUSB port and a microHDMI port, and that's about all we know. The images don't show a rear facing camera but we would expect there to be one. It will run Google's Android operating system, either Android 3.x Honeycomb or preferably Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS).
One thing is for sure, it looks remarkably like the Dell Streak, which is a hybrid smartphone and tablet with a 5in screen. Lenovo leaked its upcoming 10.1in tablet last week, which could be the first tablet to tip up running Android 4.0 ICS. µ
