THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED Samsung Galaxy Nexus launch isn't going quite to plan, with only O2 confirming that it will stock the smartphone at launch on 17 November.
We are just two days away from the launch of the Galaxy Nexus smartphone, which will debut Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. However, the only place that has confirmed it will be selling it from Thursday is O2.

Online retailer Clove has confirmed that its SIM-free stock of the phone is delayed until 23 November, a date that came from Samsung and is "still subject to change." Mobile operator Three said on Twitter earlier, "We're expecting stock on the 18th in retail but we can't 100 [per cent] confirm yet."
It also warned customers of a delay to stock saying, "For anyone who pre-ordered Galaxy Nexus y'day, due to stock delays your delivery has changed to 22/11. We'll call you by 8pm with more info." And said "We're expecting stock on the 18th in retail but we can't 100% confirm yet."
This doesn't match up with the launch date of 17 November, which Samsung has told us is still the case but has been unable to tell us where the phone will be available to buy.
We can confirm that Orange and T-Mobile won't even be selling the high profile handset, directly that is. Vodafone said it hasn't announced a date for the Nexus but pointed out that the device is on its coming soon page.
To make things look even worse the giant that is Amazon has a release date of 2 December and Expansys has a date only a day earlier.
We contacted Phones 4U, which told us, "We will be stocking the phone but can't confirm when it will go on sale," and said that the launch date is "up in the air".
It was a similar story at The Carphone Warehouse, which also couldn't give us a date for when the Galaxy Nexus will go on sale. µ
I received my Nexus Prime today. I got a phone call from Phones4u this week saying there was a delay with stock and instead of getting it on 17th they arranged a citylink pre-9am on the 18th (this morning!). Very happy with Phones4u service.
I can't believe how many Android launches get delayed, it was the same with the flagship Honeycomb tablet, the Motorola Xoom, it just takes the shine off the whole thing.
You wouldn't get that with Apple. They would have been better off setting a realistic target launch date, even if it was slightly later and then making sure they could achieve it.
It would have also made sense to get the launch date available at the press event when they unveiled the phone and ICS.
Anyway, had a phonecall today to say that I'll be getting the phone on Friday morning :-)
I'm considering waiting for HTC edge.
Samsung is so disappointing
This whole launch programme does nothing for the credibility of Samsung. The way that this company is treating its customers reminds me of the way young children behave – I’ve got something you want and I’m not going to tell you when I’m going to give it to you no matter how nice you ask.
Bloody pathetic Samsung!!!
