FINNISH PHONE MAKER Nokia has launched its improved Nokia Suite for Windows, replacing the now defunct Ovi Suite.

According to All About Symbian, there are a number of functional changes along with the new name. The new release version is 3.2.100, replacing the latest beta 3.2.98 that had been in Nokia Beta Labs.

The application has a "refreshed" look and feel, as well as a new support view that offers information and help using Nokia Suite on a phone and makes sure there is enough space on the device.

The improved sync log shows users what has changed during syncing, while software updates for phone software and applications apparently now run more reliably.

Meanwhile, Nokia Suite doesn't run the MPlatform.exe process, although users will see it still running if Nokia Ovi Player is installed on the same PC.

Supported mail, calendar and contact applications are Microsoft Windows 7 Contacts, Microsoft Windows Vista Contacts, Microsoft Windows Vista Calendar, Microsoft Outlook 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010, Microsoft Outlook Express and Mozilla Thunderbird. µ
