Apple’s Siri voice-bot is downed

PEOPLE THAT LIKE to talk at their Iphones were disappointed last night when Apple lost its Siri services.

The voice controlled suggestion software was down for users last night, according to reports and comments on social networking web sites, but it seems to have been restored later.

Unfortunately, no one in The INQUIRER office at the moment has an Iphone so we are unable to verify whether it is back to normal, and are not in a position to ask Siri where she has been.

It's embarrassing enough for Apple already, as a casual glance at Twitter shows all sort of toys being thrown out of prams over the loss of service. Complaints range from the frustrated to the indignant as users bemoan that their latest Apple investment won't play with them anymore.

Apple has not commented on the downtime. We have sent it an email asking for more information, and put the request into a shopping trolley that we pushed into a canal, as this often has the same result.

Update
We have now tried out Siri in the office and can confirm that it is working again for us. We have removed the shopping cart from the canal, but have not had a response from Apple. µ
