Buffalo launches Cloudstation

Allows you to access content from anywhere in the world
Wed Nov 02 2011, 14:38

STORAGE MAKER Buffalo Technology is launching its first cloud-based personal storage box, called the Cloudstation.

The device runs the Pogoplug operating system (OS) and is available in 2TB and 4TB capacities. It is effectively a hard drive, an out of the box, two bay plug and play device enabling users to store, access and share content such as photos, videos and music. The content can then be accessed by the user via mobile, laptop or tablet, anywhere in the world, as long as there is an internet connection.

The Cloudstation is DLNA certified and Time Machine compatible, and it is Buffalo's first entry into the cloud storage market.

The device has no service fees and can display PDF, Excel, Word and PowerPoint documents without any additional software. It also allows users to give friends space of their own to store and access files. The device uses a 26-digit personal identifier code along with encryption for cloud access so content remains safe and secure. µ
