Motorola Pro+ will tip up next week

A little late but price dropped

US SMARTPHONE MAKER Motorola's Pro+ handset will tip up a tad later than planned on 2 November.

This is a little later than we expected because Motorola gave a launch date of October when it announced the phone in August. The device has had a price drop of £98 to £322 including VAT.

Online retailer Clove said, "We can today confirm that the Motorola Pro + will be arriving into stock next week, on Wednesday 2nd of November. The price too has also reduced to just £269."

With high-end devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note and Iphone 4S getting all the limelight we almost forgot about the Pro+. It's Motorola's Blackberry-esque device with a touchscreen and Qwerty keyboard.

The Pro+ will have a 3.1in touchscreen, a 1GHz processor backed with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. As well as the Qwerty keyboard it will have a 5MP rear facing camera, a 1600mAh battery and Quickoffice Connect.

Alain Mutricy, SVP of device product management at Motorola Mobility said, "The Motorola PRO+ is built for people who want to take the pressure off and consolidate their work and personal lives with an efficient smartphone that acts like your personal assistant." µ

I disagree Dave, this is the handset I've been waiting for. I'm no Motorola fanboy, but since their move to Android, they've been doing well.

Check out the videos on youtube for this model - Moto own the blackberry keyboard patents - the target market for this phone is satisfied.

Previously we've seen HTC ChaCha, Samsung pro, Ypro and Mpro. All of which have had poor specs and screen sizes.

To the business user, games and video playback are unimportant. communications software however, is. My HTC DHD is a battery hog if you're always on it, and the manufacturers have been focusing on slim and powerful for far too long. If I get another 6-8 hrs from a phone that's 3mm thicker - then great, but they seem to be in this self-imposed war with other to make thin...

Moto pro+ has a smaller screen, capable but not top rate hardware and a 1600mAh battery - and a blackberry keyboard - what more do you want? some crappy impractical and weak landscape slider? portrait is about speed. it's still around because it works.

not good enough

Why is it taking so long for someone to release a descent slide out QWERTY android/windows phone? The HTC Desire Z is a little old hat now and may not be able to run ICS (700MHz CPU) and the HTC 7 Pro is fixed at 8Gb, no SD slot, all other offerings are too small for my liking :(

The Motorola Droid 3 or Samsumg Captiva Glide look ok but not due for a bit and both Android, would be nice to see a similar Windows phone model too to make a decision on
