FINNISH PHONE MAKER Nokia has aired TV adverts showing off its upcoming Windows Phone called the 800.
The adverts were shown on ITV over the weekend in brief snippets between other adverts. It is highly likely that Nokia will announce the handset, codenamed 'Sea Ray', at this week's Nokia World conference.
Without giving anything away, the short adverts briefly show the handset from the side, with flashing tiles surrounding it suggesting the Windows Phone 7.5 operating system.
We contacted Nokia but it declined to comment on the subject. We first saw the device leaked back in June.
The Nokia 800 looks almost identical to the N9 model that runs the Meego operating system. The firm strangely decided not to put the N9 on sale in the UK despite a good reaction to it.
Some photos from the phone have been posted online at the Nokia Blog, where the device is named the Nokia Lumia 800.
We'll have to wait until Nokia World to see what gets announced but the first Nokia Windows Phone might have a 3.9in screen and an 8MP camera with a Carl Zeiss lens. µ
