MC Hammer launches a search engine

Can’t touch this
Fri Oct 21 2011, 11:55

POPULAR 90s rapper MC Hammer will launch his own search engine, the man himself has announced.

According to Sky News, the bizarre announcement was made at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco.

Hammer said the search engine, called Wiredoo, won't try to compete with bigger engines like Google or Bing. Instead it will "add relationship information to search results".

Hammer sold 10 million copies of his hit single "Can't Touch This" in 1990. However, more lately he has become a fixture at consumer information technology events as he looks to become an entrepreneur.

He cited the example of how homes would come up in his search engine and showed how a search would produce information about neighbourhoods, local schools, mortgages, and insurance.

"It's not a competitive attempt to recreate search," he said. "You can always make things better. There's always a next version.

"Do we really need another search engine? Of course not. But if something can be an added value, then we'll find a definite use for it." µ

Typical Hammer approach

Typical approach, take an oldie and remix it. Way to go, Stan.
