PC MAKER HP has released a software update for its Touchpad that allows other, non WebOS phones to pair with the tablet.

HP said on the Palm blog that the over-the-air update for the Touchpad will feature a new camera app for photos and video, support for OGG Vorbis music files and online / offline messaging status support.

The update adds the ability to pair non-webOS phones to the Touchpad, so users can answer calls on the tablet. It also streamlines pairing with non-WebOS Bluetooth keyboards.

HP added that users will also experience better performance, user interface improvements and other enhancements such as support for accelerometer events in Adobe Flash Player, as well as more robust Skype video calling. µ
