Dutch judge will make Samsung and Apple decision today

Will decide if patent war can continue in the region

A JUDGE in the Netherlands will make a decision today on whether patent battlers Samsung and Apple will be able to keep fighting their continuing war in the region.

Last month, Samsung and Apple went before judges in Australia and the Netherlands in their ongoing patent disputes. The two companies have so many patent lawsuits going on around the world that frankly, we've lost count.

In the Hague, Samsung had sought an embargo on Ipads and Iphones over 3G patents. A Dutch reporter for Webwereld, Andreas Udo de Haes, tweeted from the court in September that Samsung claimed it had offered licensing terms that were rejected by Apple.

He also tweeted that the judge would make a decision at 1400 hours on 14 October, adding, "mind you: this decision is on whether Samsung's cases will be allowed to continue".

Apple has already won injunctions preventing Samsung from selling its Galaxy Tab tablet in a number of countries. µ
