KOREAN ELECTRONICS MAKER Samsung will release upgraded versions of its Galaxy smartphones in Europe to overcome a temporary sales ban on products that allegedly infringe Apple patents.
According to Reuters, Samsung's James Chung said, "We've fixed the technological problem and upgraded products to address the issue. They will be shortly available for sale."
Tomorrow an Australian court will decide if Apple's complaints that Samsung's Galaxy Tab copies its designs are correct, and whether it will ban the Korean company's allegedly patent infringing tablet.
Apple tried to ban Samsung's Galaxy smartphones in the Netherlands, but a Dutch court ruled in August that Samsung's smartphones infringed just one of Apple's patents.
It imposed a preliminary sales injunction on three Samsung smartphone models - the Galaxy S, Galaxy S II and Ace - due to alleged infringement of an Apple patent concerning a method of scrolling or browsing through photos.
The Dutch court will decide the outcome of the case on Friday. µ
