Australia will rule on Apple’s Samsung ban requests

Sydney court to release judgment on ban tomorrow
Wed Oct 12 2011, 09:29

AN AUSTRALIAN COURT will make its ruling on whether to ban a Samsung product in that country tomorrow.

The court will decide if Apple's complaints that Samsung's Galaxy Tab copies its designs are correct, and if so, whether it will ban the Korean company's allegedly patent infringing tablet.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the court will make its decision tomorrow and will initially inform just the parties involved. The reason for this confidential first disclosure is unknown, but we doubt it will stay private, and even if it does the Australian Federal Court will go public with its decision a day later.

The Apple chasing Samsung roadshow is clocking up a lot of airmiles, and while it is visiting Australia it is focusing on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet. Apple wants a ban on sales of the tablet and has alleged that Samsung willfully infringed its patents. µ
