Vodafone lowers its Iphone 4S prices

Admits to going in too high

MOBILE OPERATOR Vodafone has cut the upfront costs for the upcoming Iphone 4S to keep up with the competition.

Last week, most of the UK's mobile operators put Apple's Iphone 4S up for pre-order, mostly with similar prices on deals. Vodafone has realised that its upfront costs for the device were too high and lowered them to stay in competition with its rivals.

It has slashed Iphone 4S prices by up to £120 for the 16GB model, £80 for the 32GB model and £70 for the 64GB model. The cheapest contract that will get you the Iphone 4S for nothing remains at £46 per month.

Vodafone told The INQUIRER that it made the decision after seeing its competitor's lower prices and realising that its own were too high.

The lower prices are much more in line with those of Orange and Three. One thing that made Vodafone an attractive option was the offer of £59 back on pre-orders, but it has ended this promotion already.

If you don't want the phone on a contract then you can buy it directly from the fruit themed Apple for £499, £599 or £699 for 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models, respectively. Queues for the Iphone 4S have already started forming at Apple's stores in central London ahead of its launch this Friday. µ
