QUEUES HAVE STARTED to form outside London Apple stores in anticipation of the launch of the Iphone 4S at 8am this Friday.

Five people have already gathered outside the Apple store in Regent Street. First in the queue was a jail-breaking group called Jaillbreak Con comprising Craig Fox, Daniel James and Mike Roberts. They told The INQUIRER that they had been outside since Friday last week, and of course, will be there until this Friday at 8am when the doors open.

The INQUIRER recognised another guy in the queue, who was happily using his Macbook, from the Ipad 2 launch. He must really like Apple.

All had camping chairs and sleeping bags, and told us that members of the public had been bringing them food. While The INQUIRER was talking with them, a curious tourist approached and asked them what they were doing.

Meanwhile, down at the Covent Garden Apple store, which was recently the scene of a smash and grab robbery, there were no signs of any queues, just the lone Robert Shoesmith who's been camping out for eight days as part of a publicity stunt.

He did see some of the excitement of Sunday night when the store was robbed, waking at 1:15am to the sound of bikes buzzing around the area before they zoomed off and the police arrived on the scene.

Shoesmith is expecting some company on Wednesday, which will be nice, since he confessed to being a bit bored. µ
