US PHONE MAKER Motorola has released a teaser video for its upcoming announcement on 18 October.
We don't know for sure, but the announcement could be for the firm's upcoming revival of its Razr brand in a new smartphone. It might be a subtle link but the video shows a razor blade a third of the way through.
Overall the teaser doesn't give much away apart from saying the mystery device will be faster, thinner, smarter and stronger. Motorola gives the announcement date but doesn't mention a venue.
If Motorola does bring back the Razr brand then we suspect that the handset will be called the Droid Razr and come with a 4.3in qHD Super AMOLED screen.
You can register your interest with Motorola for the announcement and the form has a picture of the current Atrix and Xoom devices next to it. So the announcement could be for follow up versions of these, instead.
We've seen leaked pictures of the Xoom 2, the Atrix 2 and an updated version of the Motorola Lapdock. We'll have to wait until next week to see what Motorola announces. µ
