One million Iphone 4S pre-ordered in 24 hours

Latest Iphone beats Apple's record

FRUIT THEMED Apple has proudly announced that one million pre-orders of its recently announced Iphone 4S have been placed in just 24 hours, which is more than one and a half times as many pre-orders as the Iphone 4.

While the last version of the Iphone was pre-ordered by 600,000 people, this latest model has 400,000 more people interested. This might be because of its additional features, such as Siri, the voice assisted assistant, or the presence of a dual-core chip. Either way it is cause for quiet celebration at a company that is in mourning.

"We are blown away with the incredible customer response to iPhone 4S," said Philip Schiller, Apple's SVP of Worldwide Product Marketing. "The first day pre-orders for iPhone 4S have been the most for any new product that Apple has ever launched and we are thrilled that customers love iPhone 4S as much as we do."

This latest entry to the Apple Iphone canon will be released in the UK at 8am on 14 October, and The INQUIRER will be on hand to usher it in.

The Iphone 4S comes in either black or white and will be available in 16GB, 32GB and new 64GB models, while so far the cheapest option for potential UK buyers is from O2. µ
