WE'VE HEARD various things about the Nexus Prime smartphone and now we have the alleged full specifications courtesy of BGR.
The information comes from a 'trusted source' and is both downgraded and upgraded from the information that we've heard previously. First, the processor is now a Texus Instruments 1.2GHz dual-core processor instead of the Samsung 1.5GHz dual-core chip.
Another downgrade is the camera, which is only 5MP compared to 8MP. The front facing web cam apparently will be 1.3MP. The RAM remains the same at 1GB but there will be twice as much internal storage at 32GB. It's a little thicker now at 9mm, not 8.8mm, too.
The screen size is the same at 4.65in with HD 720p resolution. Going by Samsung's sneak peek at the handset, the screen will be curved like the one on the Nexus S.
The Android version is reported as being Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich even though we've seen it down as Android 2.4 with the same codename. Lastly the battery is not as good at 1750mAh rather than 2000mAh.
These specifications throw a spanner in the works a bit and we can't say which ones are right and which are wrong. The phone is expected to be announced on 11 October so we'll have to wait until then to find out once and for all what the first ICS smartphone will really be. µ
