HARDWARE VENDOR Apple will celebrate its founder's life next week as it continues to come to terms with the death of Steve Jobs.

According to the BBC, the company has emailed its staff to say that it will hold a "Celebration of Steve's extraordinary life".

Apple CEO Tim Cook wrote the message, telling staff that he had "lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor".

He added, "We will honor his memory by dedicating ourselves to continuing the work he loved so much."

Apple gave over the front page of its web site to a photo of Steve Jobs after his death was announced, while in an interview with the Associated Press Steve Wozniak also mourned the loss of a friend and an inspiration.

"We've lost something we won't get back but the way I see it, though, the way people love products that he put so much into creating means he brought a lot of life to the world," he said. µ
