Samsung gives a sneak peek at the Nexus Prime

KOREAN HARDWARE GIANT Samsung has released a video that briefly shows off the upcoming Google Nexus Prime smartphone.

All eyes were on Apple yesterday as it disappointingly announced the Iphone 4S instead of the Iphone 5. Meanwhile, Samsung turned the focus to the upcoming version of the Nexus handset that will be called the Prime.

The clip is short and sweet, talks about perfect combinations such as milk and cookies, then goes on to show a quick glimpse of the Nexus Prime with its concavely curved screen. It ends with a screen showing Google and Samsung.

Posted by Samsung Mobile, the video has accompanying text saying, "Join us at the next SAMSUNG MOBILE UNPACKED event to witness another 'perfect combination' that we've prepared for you on October 11th in San Diego."

This confirms what we reported last week about the launch date, although it doesn't explicitly state that it's for the Prime. Samsung made Google's previous Nexus handsets such as the Nexus S.

As far as we've heard the Nexus Prime will run on Samsung's 1.5GHz Exynos dual-core processor and have 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, an 8MP camera and a 2,000mAh battery.

The handset will be the first to run the next version of Google's Android operating system, which is called Ice Cream Sandwich and is likely to be version number 2.4. µ
