Last minute agreement reached

ANNOYED WORKERS at Fujitsu in Manchester have reached an accord with management and suspended their planned industrial action.

Unite's members have expressed a number of problems with their employer, including harassment of their representatives and unreasonable executive salary increases. This has lead to strikes and threats of further demonstrations.

Most recently the members were planning to strike this week and had scheduled a demonstration at the Conservative Party conference. These and all other activities have been postponed, according to a statement from Unite.

"Our members do not take strike action lightly. The agreement reached is good news for both our members and for Fujitsu," said Kevin O'Gallagher, Unite national officer as he announced that talks had lead to postponement of activities.

"Further talks are planned with the company. We hope this will produce an improved offer, which we will put to our members." µ
