TAIWANESE SMARTPHONE MAKER HTC's two Windows Phone 7.5 (WP7.5) smartphones have gone on sale ahead of schedule at Phones 4U.
Originally we had a date of 15 October, courtesy of Amazon, and that still stands, but the handsets are already available. Phones 4U has confirmed that both the Radar and the Titan went on sale on Saturday in stores due to the company getting hold of stock early.
A spokesperson for Phones 4U told us, "We managed to get stock a little early so the HTC Titan and Radar actually became available in stores on Saturday. It's available online as of today too - it just says 7th as this was the initial expected date. This will change today to reveal the correct date."
Phones 4U is offering the Radar for free on a £23.50 per month contract with Orange, and the Titan for £30 per month. The Titan will be HTC's flagship WP7.5 Mango device.
If you're looking for a SIM free handset then Clove has the same date with the Radar priced at £342 and the Titan at £498. These prices are less at Amazon at £329 and £489, respectively, if you're prepared to wait a few more days to get the phone.
Both handsets will come pre-loaded with Microsoft's WP7.5 Mango operating system and will be among the first available with this latest version. ZTE will also be hoping to compete in the Windows Phone market with its recently announced Spirit handset, which is part of its Skate family.
