A billion here, a billion there - pretty soon it adds up to real money. ',Senator Everett Dicksen (1896-1969)" - 1 "279"
WIKILEAKS FOUNDER Julian Assange has made some of his own secrets public in a bid to get revenge over an "unauthorised" biography.
According to Reuters, WikiLeaks has published e-mail correspondence and transcripts of phone conversations between Assange, his literary agent and lawyers, and Canongate, an independent publisher based in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Canongate had signed a deal with Assange after he was released from jail last December.
The correspondence was published as an appendix to an earlier Assange statement complaining about Canongate's release last week of "Julian Assange: The Unauthorized Autobiography".
The correspondence also includes Assange giving information about his personal finances and well-being, and those of WikiLeaks.
Assange's figures portray that the financial deal he signed with Canongate should have brought him a level of financial reward proportionate to what he and his supporters regard as his status as an anti-secrecy crusader and celebrity, apparently.
Frankly, we aren't sure why Assange is bothering. UK sales for his book after the first three days of publication are said to total just 644 copies. µ
