THE US INTERNATIONAL Trade Commission (ITC) will investigate a claim by HTC that shiny toy seller Apple has infringed its patents.
HTC has requested that an import ban be slapped on Apple's devices after filing a complaint with the US trade watchdog in August, according to the BBC. It is one of three complaints that HTC has filed against Apple.
The Taiwanese phone maker's latest complaint alleges that Apple has infringed its patents in smart phones, tablets and computers. The ITC said it will announce within 45 days when it expects to complete the investigation.
The fruit themed one has also accused HTC of copying its technology in just one of many other global patent battles it is fighting.
Apple has already won injunctions preventing Samsung from selling its Galaxy Tab tablet in some countries. And earlier this month, The INQUIRER reported that Samsung is considering an attempt to ban sales of Apple's upcoming Iphone 5 in Europe. µ
