HACKTIVIST GROUP Anonymous has identified the policeman that pepper sprayed peaceful female protesters during the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations in New York City.
A video of the scene appeared on the internet late last weekend and was met with shock and outrage. In it a group of women are seen being hemmed in by New York police officers before being doused with the pepper spray and collapsing screaming.
The protests called for by Anonymous are peaceful, and protesters are encouraged to sit in, rather than act out. Anonymous supports this non-violent protest by using its technical measures to expose police oppression and brutality.
"#NYPD #Officer That Pepper Sprayed Peaceful Corralled Women #Identified (link removed)," reads a tweet from Anon_Central, while another adds, "Attention #OccupyWallStreet : BadCop d0x | TARGET: Officer Anthony Bologna #NYPD."
A linked pastebin release by Anonymous added a warning to the officer and others that might be tempted to pepper spray corralled protesters.
"As we watched your officers kettle innocent women, we observed you barberically pepper spray wildly into the group of kettled women," it testified. "We were shocked and disgusted by your behavior. You know who the innocent women were, now they will have the chance to know who you are. Before you commit atrocities against innocent people, think twice. WE ARE WATCHING!!! Expect Us!" µ
