Motorola Xoom 2 and refreshed Lapdock are leaked

With two model sizes

US GADGET MAKER Motorola's next generation Xoom tablet and Lapdock have been leaked on the internet.

The firm's upcoming follow-on to its Xoom tablet will come in two sizes running Android 3.2 Honeycomb, according to Engadget. The tablet has been on a diet with a much slimmer and stylish looking design. Both models are set to be thinner than the Iphone 4 at around 9mm.

The largest of the pair seems to be a 10.1in model like the original Xoom and the smaller version, codenamed 'Flemming', will be a couple of inches smaller at 8.2in. Motorola has stuck with placing the power button on the rear along with a volume rocker and of course rear facing cameras.

We don't know when these tablets will be available but the prototypes are apparently buggy and suffer frequent reboots, so don't be expecting them any time soon.

Also leaked is the next version of Motorola's Lapdock, which will accompany the Atrix 2 smartphone that we wrote about last week.

It's called the Lapdock 100 and looks similar to the original Lapdock with a couple of interesting changes, according to Thisismynext.

The first thing is that the screen size is smaller at 10.1in rather than 11.6in. This could make it lighter, but the docking section of the device looks fatter than before.

Secondly, the dock will connect to the smartphone with a cable rather than a fixed physical connection. It is likely that the firm wants to make the Lapdock compatible with more handsets by using this method. Again, it's unclear when the Lapdock 100 will tip up, but we expect its appearance to coincide with Motorola's launch of the Atrix 2. µ
