MOBILE SOFTWARE HOUSE Google's upcoming Nexus Prime smartphone is taking shape in some leaked specifications.
A hands on with the handset has been reported by Gsmarena from an anonymous 4Chan user. They called the phone the 'Galaxy Nexus', which confirms Samsung will be making it, but we believe it will be named the Nexus Prime.
Earlier this month we reported that the handset could be tipping up in the next two months but didn't have any specifics on the hardware. The Nexus Prime apparently looks like the Samsung Galaxy S II but has a curved screen like the Nexus S. With a metal body it's reportedly quite weighty at around 130g, but is only 8.8mm thick.
The Nexus Prime will run on Samsung's 1.5GHz Exynos dual-core processor and have 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, an 8MP camera and a 2,000mAh battery.
The phone was running Android version 2.4.1, confirming that Ice Cream Sandwich will be Android 2.4 rather than Android 4.0. It looks like Gingerbread but with a more Honeycomb style, glassy look.
A new feature is the ability to preview applications from the app drawer before launching them. The Gmail app can also split into two in landscape mode to show your inbox and an email.
Other than this, the smartphone was silky smooth and loaded everything super fast. It is thought that the phone will debut Android 2.4.1, codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich. µ
