Apple Iphone 5 case gets 'leaked'
THE SHAPE of Apple's upcoming Iphone 5 apparently has been revealed, again, after accessories maker Case-Mate 'leaked' a case for the device.
According to the Telegraph, Case-Mate's web site was updated to show what are apparently cases for the Iphone 5, only for the page to be later removed.
The report said that the case appeared to be designed for a curved edged device, more like an Ipod Touch than an Iphone 4. Case-Mate's mock-up had an aluminium back and was wider then its predecessor.
Call us cynical but we recall Iphone cases have been 'leaked' before in the run up to the release of a new version of Apple's iconic smartphone.
Meanwhile, earlier this month we reported that fruit themed toy seller Apple had lost another Iphone prototype in a bar. An Apple employee also lost an Iphone 4 prototype in a bar last year. That unit was bought by gadget web site Gizmodo, which in turn was found by Apple's lawyers.
The Apple rumour mill usually starts to grind a month or two before the launch of a shiny new Iphone model. We haven't heard a launch date yet, but at this rate we'd put a punt on mid-October.
We expect that all this Iphone release hysteria will be over fairly soon, and then Apple fanbois will be able to breathe a sigh of relief. µ

A small screw to fix the case has been dropped by the parcel company delivering it and the photo has now leaked on the net! FBI is on the case. What a technical event!

No technical details, relying on the rumour mill to do all their marketing for them by 'leaking' supposed pictures of a case. Now that is a marketers dream, when you can sell something on shape alone.
People don't care what speed the processor is, how much memory it's got, they just HAVE to buy it because OMG OMG it's teh new iphonez 5!

I guess those case makers with the multi billion dollar market caps that make cases that apple gets nothing from get early access to the device, right?
One has to wonder who is gonna throw who of which roof this time. :-\
I'm not impressed, I hope it has something good going on the inside because the outside looks like just another ho-hum mid-tier Android device.
