CANADIAN SMARTPHONE MAKER Research in Motion (RIM) has announced that its Blackberry App World 3.0 is now available.

Among new features Blackberry App World has a new design, with rotating spotlight banners to show off everything that's new. Apps, Games, and Themes now have their own channels so users can get to what they want faster.

Meanwhile, the company has introduced 'My Account' to let users manage their Blackberry ID (BBID) app store accounts and payment options easily with direct access to all information from the home screen.

The 'My World' feature gives users a streamlined view of their apps and status. At a glance, in addition to seeing which apps are installed and uninstalled, users can manage subscription content and services. When new updates or subscription renewals are available for apps, users will be notified using push technology.

It also includes app social sharing so when a user finds an app they can't live without, they can share it directly from the app details screen through Blackberry Messenger (BBM), Facebook, Twitter, email and SMS.

The evolved app details screen allows users to get a quick summary, check out reviews and star ratings and view screen shots among other things.

Meanwhile, there are more search options and users can find apps with a Search Bar that now appears on the storefront home screen, with search results presented across Channels as well as My World.

Blackberry users running Blackberry OS 5.0 and higher will see on-device upgrade notifications appear within the next few days. µ
