Tough phone makes Guinness Book of Records

Hardman phone survives a 25 metre drop

A RUGGED HANDSET FOR TOUGH MEN, the Sonim XP3300 Force has got into the Guinness Book of Records for being World's Toughest Phone.

The device survived an extreme drop test from 25 metres onto concrete without operational damage to make it into the record book.

Dropping an Iphone, in contrast, has the opposite effect, with the screen shattering from even the smallest fall.

The Sonim handset beat the previous record holder, which was another tough phone by JCB that survived a mere 3.25 metre drop.

Guinness Book of Records judges witnessed the event and then tested that the phone was still working after the drop.

Bob Plaschke, CEO of Sonim Technologies said, "Establishing the Guinness World Record for highest mobile phone drop assures remote and tough workers that their Sonim phone is 'fit for purpose' and can withstand the daily knocks, drops and tumbles."

The Sonim XP3300 Force has previously been dragged behind boats and quad bikes, driven over by cars, immersed in ice and concrete, sandblasted and submerged, but it still works. µ
