A LONELY HEART has unwittingly become part of a betting shop blag after falling for a loose Lothario on Facebook.
Today we learn, courtesy of the Daily Mail, that it is possible to charm a young lady on Facebook into visiting your house for an evening of DVD viewing and then convince her that running out of a betting shop carrying swag is pretty normal stuff for a first date.
The Mail reports that Leah Gibbs, 23, started her date with 21-year-old Adam Minton by driving him to a car park, which is pretty normal stuff, but five minutes later he re-appeared in a rush and asked that she drive him home.
In fact he said, "Go, go, go!", which presumably to Gibbs was again fairly normal stuff. It was only later that the date started to go awry.
Reportedly she drove him home, but the Daily Mail reported, "His personality had changed and he had become rude towards her, [and] she decided the date was over." Then, as the Daily Mail relates, "Just as he was trying to coax her into the house, the police arrived and they were both arrested."
Minton has been jailed for four and a half years, but Gibbs was able to explain her story to the Police and walked away after spending just one night in a cell.
"I thought I would be ending the night in Adam's arms," said the disappointed young lady. "Instead, he had landed in the long arms of the law and I was facing jail." µ
