SMILEY FACED FIRM LG is hoping to storm the TV market with its PZ850T Pentouch TV.
The 50in or 60in 3D Cinema plasma TV comes with a pair of Touch Pens that can be used simultaneously on the screen. So users can sit really close to a giant TV and use a stylus to, er, draw pictures, mostly.
Stephen Gater, consumer electronics marketing director LG UK, commented, "We're all used to touch screens being available on our phones and even tablets now, but LG is one of the first to be offering this technology on large TV screens."

LG said that connecting the TV to a computer means that users can access software and the internet, and turn it into an entertainment hub. Using the Pentouch mode allows users to move and edit files on their PCs or use the in-built software to draw pictures with the pen, one hopes without being blinded, of course.
Other features include a Gallery with a slide show, Family Calendar and Digital Photo Frame.
Gater added, "We believe that the Pentouch technology offers families a whole new interactive home entertainment experience and provides a powerful educational tool too."
The PZ850T uses active shutter 3D and LG supplies one pair of glasses in the box. There are various USB and HDMI ports, but most important is the fact you can now sit inches from your TV and touch it with a pen. µ
