ANOTHER TABLET is almost upon us in the Andy Pad, which is available to pre-order from £129.
The tablet comes in two different models and, as hard as it is to believe, is made by mattress firm Mattressman. The Andy Pad is a budget Android tablet that the company says it will ship to customers by 12 September.

The basic model is called the Andy Pad and there is also a fancier version call the Andy Pad Pro, which is priced at £179. Both are 7in devices and will ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The firm has told us that stock is very limited.
The Andy Pad has a resistive touchscreen with 480x800 resolution whilst the Pro model has a capacitive touchscreen with 600x1024 resolution. Both are powered by a Cortex A8 1.2GHz processor and have 512MB of RAM and a 3D capable GPU.
Both have WiFi, HDMI and microUSB ports, a microSD card slot and claim six hours of battery life. The pair differ on internal storage with the Andy Pad having 8GB and the Andy Pad Pro 16GB. The Pro model also has Bluetooth, which the basic model doesn't.
Camera-wise the Andy Pad has only a front mounted webcam but the Andy Pad Pro has an added bonus of a rear facing camera. Pre-installed apps on both tablets include Twitter, Dropbox, Evernote and the game Drag Racing. µ

Not the first Brit non-computer company to bring out a computing device: anybody remember LEO (the Lyons Electronic Office computer) from the J Lyons tea shops in the 1950s?
Evernote pre-installed. Must be gaining more traction than I thought.
