Iphone 5 prototype lost in bar

Fool us once...
Thu Sep 01 2011, 08:40

FRUIT THEMED GADGET SELLER Apple has lost another Iphone prototype in a bar, causing panic at the company and, well, headlines about the upcoming Iphone 5.

If this sounds familiar it's because it has happened before. An Apple employee lost an Iphone 4 prototype in a bar last year. That unit was bought by gadget site Gizmodo, which in turn was found by Apple's lawyers. Two people who sold the prototype instead of returning it have been charged.

This time around no one has stepped forward to say that they have found the device, but we suspect that it will not take long before that happens.

According to a report on CNET, which cites unnamed sources, the Iphone 5 was left in a Mexican restaurant in San Francisco, presumably by someone trusted at the firm, but someone who really should not ought to have been, apparently. The INQUIRER is not immune to losing things, but an Iphone prototype? Come on. And twice? Forget about it.

We are filing this story very close to the 'Bull' section of our filing cabinet for now as it sounds very, very suspicious to us.

Reports are everywhere about the missing Iphone, which apparently has neither been found nor sold, so The INQUIRER is keeping an eye on Ebay and checking down the back of the sofa to see if we can afford it. µ

Re: I've got it

No, the distinctive smell is the battery about to go into catastrophic failure mode (Apple patent pending).

Damn...

Why can't they lose it near me... It would be up on Youtube with a .44 round going through it within the hour.

All uploaded via a friendly neighbourhood open wifi point.

Not gonna fall for your cheap publicity grabbing crap any more Apple!

Strategy

Another bad campaign from Apple to keep ppl waiting for his products, they have to change the strategy that's old already.

I've got it

But I'm going to flush it down the john. We learned our lesson there.

I can say that it has a 4-D display like the new [Spy Kids] film: there's a scratch-and-sniff scent panel on the rear. This works with video calls, interestingly, but only to other iPhones - unless you take a Pre 3 and flush it, too. Then you get the exact same scent as this stinker has out of the box. Apple has taken note of HP flushing their entire product line and are, of course, sueing.

Lost it?

This whole Apple advertising campaign has turned into a joke.

Step 1 - Do a weekly leaks of news of some kind about the new phone

Step 2 - When you're ready to launch, "lose" a phone in a bar

Step 3 - Officially launch the phone.

OK they want to create anticipation, but is that possible that the news guys haven't figure it out already?

Lost in Translation

It's a good thing this employee didn't work for one of Apple's Chinese sub contractors. There's a very high 'suicide' rate among people who lose their apples in China.

the reality

this time, in reality the iPhone was not lost, but sold by an Apple insider. The iPhone price (which is still unknown, but we suspect its more than $ 5000) was offered to an Apple employee, who should visit the bar and the "forget" the iPhone there.

Follow the news, and you will see the pics soon
