JAPANESE ELECTRONICS MAKER Sony is launching a touchscreen 3D PC that allows users to watch 3D video from a TV or Playstation 3 through a 3D HDMI output.

The Vaio L Series PC can be used with the same rechargeable active shutter glasses as the Bravia 3D TV models for 3D movies, games, videos and panoramic photos.

An HDMI output connects the Vaio L Series PC to any HD ready television to watch video, photos, graphics and games on a TV screen. It's also the first all-in-one PC with a 3D HDMI input, allowing it to display 3D video from a connected Playstation 3.

The slim PC has a 61cm (24") full HD Vaio Display Plus screen with LED backlight, whether you're using it for 3D or 2D media.

The generously sized multi-touch LCD screen is framed by a touch sensitive 'Edge Access' bezel that gives mouse-free access to key functions. The bezel also houses an embedded 3D transmitter.Sony Vaio L Series all-in-one 3D touch-screen computer

'Native' supported 3D content includes movies on Blu-ray disc, games and videos. There's also a dedicated button on the bezel that instantly converts 2D content like Blu-ray disc movies to simulated 3D at a single touch.

The Vaio L Series PC has the latest generation of Intel Core processors inside and graphics by Nvidia.

Depending on configuration, the integrated Blu-ray disc writer lets users create, edit and store full HD content with up to 50GB of storage on a single Blu-ray disc.

The integrated HD web camera powered by 'Exmor' technology delivers a crisp, clear high definition image, according to Sony.

The all-in-one 61cm (24") Vaio L Series 3D multimedia PC by Sony will be available in Europe from October 2011, depending on country.

Meanwhile, Sony is also adding a 15.5in laptop to the Vaio S Series range of notebook PCs.

The laptop is 24.5mm thin and weighs 2kg with internal battery that provides power for up to 6.5 hours of computing time. Available as an option, a secondary Sheet battery can be charged separately from the PC and attached at any time, boosting total battery stamina up to 13 hours. Sony Vaio S Series laptop

Also available as an optional accessory for Vaio S Series PC models configured with Blu-ray disc drive is a VGP-FL3D15A 'glasses-free' 3D panel that attaches easily to the computer's LCD screen.

The S Series Vaio PC uses face detection technology by Sony to track the viewer's head position via the PC's built-in web camera, adjusting images for a clearer 3D experience.

The Sony S Series Vaio notebook PC will be available in Europe from October 2011, depending on country. µ
