JAPANESE ELECTRONICS OUTFIT Sony has confirmed that two tablets, named the Tablet S and Tablet P will be available from the end of September.
Previously named the S1 and S2, the pair of Android Honeycomb tablets will come in both WiFi and 3G models with Android 3.1 and 3.2 operating systems. Both will have an Nvidia 1GHz Tegra 2 processor.

If you didn't already know, the Sony Tablet S is your traditional tablet, apart from its tapered design, with a 9.4in TFT touchscreen and the S2, sorry Tablet P, is more like a Nintendo DS device with its dual 5.5in VGA screens.
The Tablet S will be available in three models. Firstly the WiFi only version, which will have a choice of 16GB or 32GB storage and a WiFi and 3G model with 16GB of storage - this will be available later in November. The WiFi only models will come with Android 3.1, which will be upgradable to Android 3.2, whilst the 3G model will come with Android 3.2.
Also available in November will be the smaller Tablet P, which will come in only a WiFi and 3G model with 4GB of internal storage and will ship with Android 3.2. This confirms what we reported earlier about the two tablets not being scheduled to launch at the same time.

Both tablets will come Playstation certified for gaming and Sony has confirmed the inclusion of DNLA and infrared technology - on the Tablet S only - so users can stream music to a TV or use the tablet as a remote control.
A 5MP rear facing camera and 0.3MP front facing webcam will feature on both tablets along with standard connectivity such as Bluetooth and microUSB. Sony touts battery life of up to eight hours for the Tablet S and seven hours for the Tablet P. Sony has yet to announce any prices for these tablets. µ
It's possible to pre-buy them, though I required my friend's help to find the right page. I think mine was a little under $600, they used that xxx.95 price thing that always offends me because it's based on the assumption customers are stupid. Got the Wifi version, it'll be here in about 5-7 business days going by the choice I picked, so 2 Mondays or 2 Tuesdays from now, ordered it yesterday.
The Sony UK website lists the Tablet S in three forms, at £399 £479 and £499 respectively.
The Tablet P lists £499.
All include VAT.
