JAPANESE HARDWARE OUTFIT Toshiba has confirmed that its AT100 tablet will be available from tomorrow in the UK.
Toshiba is aiming to crack the tablet market with its latest device, previously known as the Thrive tablet. The AT100 will come with the Android 3.1 Honeycomb operating system and will be powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 1GHz processor.
Toshiba said, "Ideal for users who want to enjoy HD performance on their tablet, the Toshiba AT100 combines NVIDIA Tegra 2 processing technology with Android 3.1 providing both power and everyday ease-of-use."

The tablet has a 10.1in HD capacitive touchscreen with 800x1280 resolution. It has 1GB of DDR2 RAM and a 16GB or 32GB solid state drive for storage. If you're into tablet photography then the AT100 has a 5MP rear facing camera and a 2MP front facing camera.
Unlike a lot of tablets, Toshiba has included full sized USB and HDMI ports alongside a miniUSB port and SD card reader.
The tablet is a bit chunky at 15.8mm thick and 765g and Toshiba quotes a battery life of seven hours during multimedia playback. If you're bored with plain black devices then there is a choice of six interchangeable covers.
There are optional accessories such as the Multi-Dock, an external case and replaceable battery packs for the AT100. Prices will start at around £400 for the 16GB model. µ
